It is nice to be writing this post on a very sunny winter day. With February freshly started, the thought of spring-time is certainly closer than before! Over the past few months, the Bees@Schools team has been hard at work processing the 800 samples we got from the 170 nest boxes we received last fall! We are nearly finished the DNA extractions from these samples and are very excited to move on to the next stages of processing.
Somehow it is already time to think about the upcoming summer’s field season! The Bees@Schools program has received funding for 3 more years of community-science driven research. That means that our applications will soon be open for the 2021 season! Teachers, keep an eye on your email and this website for the application link to be posted on Monday, March 1st.
